I won't waste a lot of descriptive adjectives telling you how rare this item is but suffice to say if you ever had the inclination to own one, then you had better jump on this as I highly doubt that you will ever find another.
This is a wood platform bar scale produced for the German army pre-1945. The platform measures about 30 X 26 inches. The purpose of the scale was to weigh those large ration bags which contained potatoes, bread or other staples. The scale is marked with a Nazi German weights & measures stamp as well as a waffen ampt proof mark. The bar has a large counter weight which is adjustable in 5 Kilo increments and a small counter weight that is adjustable in 500 gram increments. It is fairly accurate. I weighed my wife on it yesterday. I am not allowed to tell the precise number but I can state that it was with one pound of what our bathroom scale said. The scale has about 50% of it's original feldgrau paint remaining. Price $400.00. Please note that it should be shipped via parcel post as it's weight is about 30 pounds.
